How To Get Here
ADDRESS - Chapel Lane, Wythall, Worcs B47 6JA Tel : 01564 826471 -- What3Words: apple.unique.stones
BY CAR - Wythall is on the A435 Birmingham to Evesham road, near to the junction with the M42. If approaching via the M42, leave at junction 3 and head towards Birmingham as far as the large island at Becketts Farm. Turn left and the Museum is signposted from there and is situated close to Wythall's old Church. Parking is free. Signed off-site parking will be necessary on major events such as August Bank Holiday.
BY MUSEUM BUS - On all main event days our free classic bus service operates from Birmingham City Centre (click here for details). On all other days we run a shuttle bus service from Wythall Station (on the bridge) and from the Maypole (shelter near Sainsbury's car park entrance) that connects with the 50 service from Birmingham and several other routes. See map below for stop location. Our timetable depends on train times and will be published closer to the season start
BY SERVICE BUS - Diamond service 150 (Kings Heath - Redditch) serves Becketts Island, just a short walk from the museum and Land Flight Service A4 runs between Solihull, Whitlocks End and Wythall Railway Stations and the church outside the museum.
In common with many other places, public transport services are frequently changing times, route numbers and operators. The 'Bus Times' website usually has a list of the current routes serving Wythall, click here for more details.
BY TRAIN - West Midlands Railway and London Northwestern Railway offer a frequent and fast service, connecting Wythall Transport Museum with major cities including Birmingham, London, and Coventry. Visit www.westmidlandsrailway.co.uk or www.londonnorthwesternrailway.co.uk for further details on routes and how to book tickets.
Walking route from The Maypole (approx 3 miles)
From The Maypole, follow the west side of Alcester Road to the dip south of Highters Heath Lane.
Then follow footpaths 516 and 515 to Dark Lane and cross.
Then follow footpaths 518 and 519 to Packhorse Lane and cross.
Then follow footpaths 544, 545 and 549 through Wythall Park to Silver Street and cross.
Then east along Silver Street for a very short distance, and south along Wilmore Lane, which crosses Wythall Bypass by an overbridge, to the traffic island on Middle Lane, and cross. (From there, access to Phoenix site if shuttle bus is running.)
Then south along Middle Lane and Chapel Lane to the old church.
