Book a visit from the Travelling Bus

We have now extending our educational offer to include a Travelling Bus which can visit schools.

The Travelling Bus will be one of our operational vintage fleet dating from the 1960s or earlier. We are making this service available during September / October and March / April each year. Due to journey times, it will have to be limited to schools located within 20 miles of our base at Wythall (postcode B47 6JA).

This service gives children the opportunity to get hands-on experience of the Travelling Bus and an insight into transport history. More broadly exploring the Travelling Bus can be used to support curriculum topics at various levels ranging across:-

  • English / Reading - perhaps linked to the "Naughty Bus" book
  • Design and Technology
  • History, Science etc.

As well as the Travelling Bus, we will bring some exhibits and material with us.

The service includes input from our trained and knowledgeable guides (DBS cleared). They can incorporate various role play activities during the morning to add to the learning.

The charge is £75 for a half day (morning 09.30 to 12.30hrs).

We are always keen to tailor what we do to your requirements and to link with the curriculum. If you want to discuss this further, please email us on education@wythall.org.uk and we will get back to you.

(Please note that we are not able to provide rides on the Travelling Bus for children as part of this offer).
