Accessibility
Parking
Our car park is free and has a number of designated accessible spaces on tarmac close to the Admission Kiosk. On main event days an overflow car park will be in use, however, we will do our best to accommodate disabled parking on site, please make your requirements known to the car park staff.
Assistance & Other Dogs
Guide dogs and other assistance dogs are welcome throughout the museum.

We are a dog friendly site but, with bus and miniature railway movements, dogs should be kept on short leads please for safety. Dogs are not allowed in the cafe, there is plenty of seating outside to enjoy refreshments. Dogs may be allowed on the bus rides at the drivers/conductors discretion. Dogs must always be carried on the bus and sit on the owners lap.
Information for wheelchair users
The museum consists of two separate halls (The Power Hall and The Scania Hall), a toilets block and a separate building housing the shop and cafeteria. Everything is on one level and hard-surfaced. All ramps are compliant. A further building (The Shire Hall) is where we keep our operational vehicles and includes our engineering area. It is not intended as a display hall and gangway widths between vehicles may be impossible in parts for wheelchairs. Some of the vehicles are removed on our Event Days and the hall is then accessible.
On Event Days, we offer bus rides on our exhibits but you will not be surprised to learn that these buses were not designed for wheelchair access. For those with some mobility, staff will be pleased to advise you which buses have lower steps and easier access.
Carers
We offer free admission to a carer assisting a visitor with disabilities, please make your requirements known at the admission point.
General information
Baby changing facilities are included in the toilet block.
There is also a private mothers nursing station in the picnic area outside the battery electic hall
Mobile phones and free WiFi should work throughout the museum.
We make every effort to ensure that staff, who are all volunteers, throughout the museum are sensitive to the needs of visitors. Please do not hesitate to ask if you require further assistance.
